THE IBERIAN PENINSULA

The Festival of the Iberian Horse is a celebration of the horses, the culture, and the countries themselves! We value the cultural exchange and the event pays tribute to the art and heritage heavily influenced by the horses we love so much. Spain and Portugal make up the Iberian Peninsula but each country has a very individual identity and the horses vary significantly too. Both countries have great historical significance and cultural diversity and we try to bring as many elements into the Festival as we can including the haunting Fado of Portugal, the passionate Flamenco of Spain, the culinary traditions and more.

Andalusia, the southernmost region in Spain is the heart of the home of the Spanish horse. "Andalucía por sí, para España y la Humanidad" - "Andalusia, for itself, for Spain and for the Humanity". There are eight provinces - Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga and Seville, and two coastlines - the Atlantic and Mediterranean, seperated by the Strait of Gibraltar
